DEFAÏENCE is an independent fashion house founded by Nicola Bacchilega.

Born in Italy and shaped between craftsmanship, sculpture and contemporary culture, the house explores the tension between beauty and defiance.

Its name draws from faïence, the glazed ceramic tradition of Faenza — a reference to the house’s Italian roots and its enduring relationship with craftsmanship, form and material.

DEFAÏENCE creates sculptural garments, jewellery and objects through a language of form, material and transformation.

Each creation is conceived as an expression of individuality — precise yet instinctive, refined yet disruptive.

Working across fashion, jewellery and couture, DEFAÏENCE produces limited editions and made-to-order pieces, preserving the intimacy and value of the craft behind each object.
